Kano-based musician, Sadiq Zazzabi has been arrested
by the Kano State censorship board.
According to PremiumTimes, the northern singer failed
to acquire the right requirements to release his new
song which he presented to the board.
The Kwankwassiya singer who was a close ally of the
former governor of the state, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso,
believes the arrest was politically motivated due to his
association with the ex-governor.
Sadiq would be detained in prison up until Friday as
directed by the boards chairman, before he appears
before the court.
The Chairman said; Yes he actually brought the song for
censorship and before we can grant him a certificate of
approval, he went ahead to launch the song.
For doing that he has faulted the censors board rule
and we are charging him for that.
Censoring a movie or song can take up to three weeks
or more depending on the complexity of the song or
film
