“I was watching a documentary some years back and that i noticed institution kids swimming through a river before going to tuition. So, I told myself, what can i do to help these youngsters and that i began pondering. Sooner or later, I was in a position to provide you with this proposal”.Nevertheless, his exploits appeared to have rather impressed the management of the Takoradi Technical institution, who have decided to award him a full scholarship.

Mark Zuckerberg fights SpaceX founder Musk on social media over artificial intelligence
Visionary entrepreneur Elon Musk and Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg were trading jabs on social media over artificial intelligence this week in a debate that has turned personal betweenthe two technology luminaries.
Musk, the founder of Tesla, SpaceX and other ventures, on Tuesday, claimed Zuckerberg’s knowledge of artificial intelligence was “limited,” two days after the Facebook founder described “naysayers” as “irresponsible.
”The debate underscored the rift in the tech community onwhether new technologies capable of creating intelligent machines like robots and self-driving cars would be a blessing or a curse for humanity.
Musk has long warned of thepotential for machines to getso smart that humans become tantamount to pets, while Zuckerberg has touted the potential for artificial intelligence to improve lives.Facebook is among the Silicon Valley’s largest investors in artificial intelligence.
Mark Zuckerberg
While live streaming on the leading social network from his yard on Sunday, Zuckerberg touched on the topic while answering questions from viewers.
“With AI especially, I am really optimistic,” Zuckerberg said.“And I think people who are naysayers and try to drum up these doomsday scenarios — I just, I don’t understand it. It’s really negative and in some ways I actually think it is pretty irresponsible.
”When asked about Zuckerberg’s comment earlyTuesday during an exchangeon Twitter, Musk wrote that he has discussed the topic with Zuckerberg and that “his understanding of the subject is limited.
”Musk more than a year ago took part in creating a nonprofit research company devoted to developing artificial intelligence that willhelp people and not hurt them.
– People pets –
“If we create some digital super-intelligence that exceeds us in every way by alot, it is very important that itbe benign,” Musk said a while back at a conference in California.
He reasoned that even a benign situation with ultra-intelligent AI would put people so far beneath the machine they would be “like a house cat.
”“I don’t love the idea of beinga house cat,” Musk said, envisioning the creation of neural lacing that magnifies people’s brain power by linking them directly to computing capabilities.
At a gathering of US governors this month, Musk contended that artificial intelligence is a terrifying problem and a threat to human civilization.
He argued for the technologyto be regulated sooner ratherthan later for risk of safeguards being put in place too late.
Smart machines could start wars or kill people in streets, Musk has warned.Musk is also behind a startup devoted to neural lace that would enable brains to interface directly with computers.
Such a “Neuralink” would have the potential to level the playing field a bit by enabling people to directly access processing power and perhaps even download memories for storage.
Zuckerberg last year createdhis own personal “butler” imbued with artificial intelligence, named Jarvis, which plays with his family.

Huawei MWC Press Conference To Take Place On February 26
We've just received press invites for the Huawei's MWC
event in Barcelona. The conference will take place on
Sunday, February 26 at 2MP local time.
According to
the invite, the company's CEO will"share Huaweis
latest innovations and exciting advances".
The upcoming Huawei P10 and P10 Plus should be the
stars of the show. We are still not sure if Huawei will
launch a Plus flavor this year, but the P10 is certain to
happen.
There were various leaks throughout the past few
months and so far we expect the P10 to feature a
double-curved IPS display of Quad HD resolution, the
latest Kirin 960 chip with 6GB RAM, and a Leica camera
setup with two sensors.
The rumors are still rather uncertain about the P10's
camera - some say it will feature two 12MP sensors as
was the case withthe P9, others put theMate 9's
second-gen Leica setup 20MP+12MP on the back. We
may also get a third-gen Leica cam, so no one really
knows for sure.
Reports put the Huawei P10 for a March or April
release this year, which means we are definitely getting
the P10 on February 26 in Barcelona. We'll be on spot to
cover the whole thing as it unfolds, and you are invited
to follow us via our website at the time of the event.

Nokia E 1 Leaked Specs And Release Details
HMD Global device passed certifications last week and
now we know more about the device. It is indeed the
entry-level Nokia Android Phone, going under the name
Nokia E1.
On Friday, a new leak revealed more about the
specifications of the device. HMD will equip Nokia E1
with 1.4 GHz Quad-core Snapdragon 425 CPU with
Adreno 308. The RAM will be 2GB with 16 GB internal
storage. There is no information if the device will sport
a microSD slot but with that kind of storage it looks
likely.
The display will be 720p with 5.2 or 5.3-inch diagonal
but the technology is still unclear. The rear camera is 13
MP while the front one is packing a 5 MP sensor.
Nokia E1and Nokia D1C are just two of the at least five
new expected devices in 2017 and we are eager to see
the first of those at MWC at the end of February.
Motorola Moto Z Starts Receiving Nougat Update In China
The Motorola Moto Z has started receiving a new
update in China. Arriving as build version NCC
25.106-11, the update brings along Android 7.0 Nougat.
This comes well over a month after the company
officially announced the global roll out of the update.
For those who aren't aware, the update makes the
device compatible with Google's Android-powered VR
platform Daydream.
Given that the roll out has just begun, it may take time
for the update to hit your device.
Meanwhile, if you feel
impatient, you can manually check for it by heading to
your handset's Settings menu.
T Samsung Galaxy C 9 Pro To Soon Be Available Outside Of China
The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro was made official back in
October last year, and currently, it's only available for
purchase in China. Now, according to new reports, the
device will soon be available in markets outside of
China as well.
Specifically, it's being said that several Asian countries -
including India, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Myanmar,
Nepal, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Malaysia, and Vietnam - will
be getting the handset. The exact launch time-frame,
however, isn't yet known for any of these markets.
Given that the international variant of the phone has
already started collecting necessary certifications, we
expect the launch to happen sooner than later.

Samsung SDI Will Still Produce Batteries For Galaxy S 8
Samsung is going to publish soon its report about the
Galaxy Note 7, but insider sources report that the
problem was not an issue with the battery, produced by
Samsung SDI.
According to recent rumors the charge component for
the next devices that the Korean company is unveiling
in 2017 will be made by Samsung SDI and not LG or
TDK. The first phones out there are the Galaxy A-series
which are going on sale in Russia and Malaysia this
month. A Samsung official said:
SDIs large-capacity battery is installed in Galaxy A
2017. It will not be the sole supply but it will be the
battery supplier for most of the devices.
Samsung SDI also noted in a statement that they will
also supply batteries for the next-generation flagship
smartphone Galaxy S8. So clearly Samsung is confident
its own battery division is still capable of delivering a
product good enough for what is arguably the most
important launch in its history. Here's hoping it's right.
Samsung Security Patch For January Is Ready
The January security patch for the Samsung Android
fleet is ready and its contents have been detailed on the
company's official Security Blog.
The software update for the month addresses 67 CVE
(Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) in Android as
well as 28 more patches, which are specific to Samsung
smartphones.
This includes security fixes for the Exynos 8895 and
Snapdragon 835 chipsets. Those are expected to be the
heart and soul of the upcoming Galaxy S8.
As usual, the security updates will likely come as part of
a regular OS update from Samsung. That said, expect
the security patch update to come sooner rather than
later.

Whatsapp Amazing New Features For Recalling Your Messages
WhatsApp Messenger is still ringing bells these Christmas
season.
Recently, it can be remembered that the application
launched the video calling capability for all users in
November. This helped to make a buzz around the globe,
as it has been made use of by 55.6% of the world
population.
This upgrade was offered over several phones, including
those operating in iOS, Windows, and also Android. On
the other hand, it will need users to update the
application to get this new feature.
Bad news for a number of devices thatwill not get support
from WhatsApp. These will involve phones operating
Android 2.1 and 2.2, Windows Phone 7, as well as iPhone
3GS and those operating iOS 6. Also, those iPhones that
haven't been up-dated to the iOS 10 version will not be
supported.
Though, a bit of an extension is offered to users of
Blackberry devices for example Blackberry OS as well as
Blackberry 10. Although, WhatsApp currently supports
those making use of Nokia S40 and Nokia S60 Symbian,
but only before June 30 of 2017.
Latest Report
A new feature is coming to WhatsApp just before 2016
will end. WhatsApp will make it possible for people to
takeback sent messages, as they can modify it and post it
once again to the receiver. It might have taken the idea
from the best feature launched on Gmail, which is taking
back sent emails.
This may be the new update coming from WhatsApp that
could give people control over their text messages.

Beast Mode could be a feature of the Galaxy S8 as Samsung files for trademark
The Nougat beta builds for the Galaxy S7 already have a
selector for Games and High-Performance modes, but
Samsung looks like it's working on taking this to the next
level.
The Korean company has filed for protection of the brand
"Beast Mode" in the European Union. The trademark will
be used in relation to smartphone software, according to
the filing, so it's pretty clear that we should expect Beast
Mode to be in the Galaxy S8 when it becomes official in
April.
Unfortunately there's no exact way to tell what Beast
Mode actually is, since there's no detailed description to
go with the trademark application.
Judging by how it
sounds, though, it has to be something to do with
performance, so perhaps the a fore mentioned Games
and High-Performance modes seen in the S7's software
will have a third sibling in the S8. Since VR is the latest
buzzword (don't call it a fad) in the mobile world these
days, Beast Mode may be all about that.
The Galaxy S8 will be a beast in its own right, if we go by
past rumors. The phone should sport Qualcomm's
Snapdragon 835 SoC, maybe even 8GB of RAM and a
fingerprint sensor on the back, stereo speakers, Bluetooth
5.0, but no 3.5mm headset jack. It could also be more
expensive than its predecessor.
75% Ownership Of MTN Nigeria Has Been Acquired By Indians : Minister Of Science And Technology.
The Minister of Science & Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya
Onu, has expressed his dissatisfaction with the ownership
of MTN Nigeria during the inaugural press conference of
the Computer-Based Test, (CBT) Centre Proprietors’
Association of Nigeria, (CPAN).
According to him:“Not less than 75 percent ownership of
MTN has been acquired by Indians.”
“Indians are gradually buying over MTN in Nigeria now
and one of the bad things about this development is that
the Indians now have the capacity to administer what
MTN does by physically employing Nigerians.
“They want the capacity to do that from their country and
if we in Nigeria allow all these opportunities to go, it will
not speak well.“
You people are doing a great work.
The government does not want people from other
countries to come and take away our technology. I
believe that if we have associations like CPAN, they can
regroup from the telecom companies they can take back
what Indians have taken away from Nigeria.
“MTN Nigeria is actually a Nigerian company, they came
from South Africa but who are the people doing the work,
are they not Nigerians?”
A visit to Bloomberg reveals that MTN Nigeria currently
has 6 Nigerians on its 14-member board

How To Stop Unsolicited SMS & Calls On Airtel
It seems like Nigerian communication commission has
woken up from their slumber to hear the cries of the
masses over the unsolicited messages from our
various telecommunications companies.
Airtel has announced its ‘Do not Disturb’ short code,
2442, designed to allow subscribers manage all
promotional messages sent to their lines.
Airtel customers can now opt-in or out of the ‘Do Not
Disturb’ service at any time, thereby empowering
subscribers to end unsolicited promotional SMS or
promotional voice calls. To use the service customers
can text ‘help’ to 2442.
Its Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Ahmad Mokhles,
said the code was introduced in compliance with the
directive of the Nigerian Communications
Commission (NCC), and in response to complaints of
unsolicited SMS or promotional voice calls by some
customers.
“Airtel is committed to offering excellent customer
service and we are pleased to introduce the ‘Do Not
Disturb’ self-service to empower our esteemed
customers to decide what messages or calls they
receive from the network.
“While there are customers that demand promotional
services to keep abreast with various innovative
products and services, there are others who do not
want to be disturbed – that is why NCC has mandated
telecoms companies in Nigeria to create this service,
providing options for customers to either opt-in or
out,” he said.
