IT was a sad Sunday for people of Abaji in Katsina-Ala
Local Government Area of Benue State when unknown
gunmen shot and killed 10 youths.
The incident was said to have occurred when the
youths were in a meeting. The youths, according to
information, were members of Community Joint Task
Force (CJTF) who were holding their meeting when
suddenly, two gunmen on Bajag motorcycle shot at
them.
It was gathered that 10 persons died instantly while one
survived with serious injuries.
As of the time of filing this report, the bodies were said
to have been deposited at Katsina-Ala General Hospital
mortuary.
The state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), Moses
Yamu, who spoke to Metro on phone, confirmed the
report, but said that nine persons died, adding that
police had been drafted to the area.
The police spokesman called for calm, saying that the
men were on top of the situation.
