Nigerian singer, Skales seemed hurt by a fan's comment on
Instagram who told him to inspire his fans with positive
stories rather than tales of setbacks he suffered while growing

Nigerian national and a Cambodian were arraigned before the
Phnom Penh Municipal Court on Friday, January 27, for their
involvement in a scheme to steal $300 from a Cambodian
woman through a fake promotional contest.
37-year-old Uchechukwu Vincent and 27-year-old Sarim
Kunthea had been charged with fraud after being sued by Keo
Sotheary, 28, and arrested on September 8, 2016.
“They were arrested by the police while coming to get $300
from the victim at a Wing transfer shop in Chom Chao
commune," Judge Ros Piseth said, adding that police had
seized the money during the arrest.
According to court documents, the pair called the woman
and told her she won first prize in a promotional contest in
September 2016. But Ms. Sotheary was told to send them
$300 through Wing for “information and preparation for
receiving the prize.”
Ms. Sotheary became suspicious when she received several
follow-up calls asking her to send the money.
She filed a complaint with police, who subsequently set up a
sting operation to arrest Mr. Vincent and Ms. Kunthea at a
local Wing shop.
The two alleged scam artists, who had been living in an
apartment in Sansom Kosal 5 village in Phnom Penh’s
Chamkarmon district, denied the charges and said they had
never called or spoken to the victim.
They claimed a Nigerian friend named Ichinobi told them to
pick up the $300 from the Wing shop before they were
arrested.
"I did not know the victim. I have never called her or
contacted her. I did not do anything as the court has accused
and I would like them to release me," Mr. Vincent said.
The court’s verdict is due on the morning of February 7th.

A couple's wedding day is expected to be the happiest day of
their lives, but that was not so for a couple in Brazil whose
wedding was disrupted by a gun-toting, trigger-happy intruder.
Hardly had the bride and groom walked down the aisle to
stand in front of the altar when the man, who marched in
behind the couple, lifted his t-shirt, brought out a gun and
began shooting
Guests and the couple scattered in different directions while
some guests were brought down by the bullet.
Umberto Ferreira dos Santos, known by his nickname
Betinho, opened fire at guests at the ceremony inside a
church in Limoeiro de Anadia.
He was plotting to take out a father and son in a revenge
attack over the death of his own boy, it was claimed.
62-year-old man Cícero Barbosa da Silva, and his 37-year-old
son, Edmilson Bezerra da Silva, who were supposed to stand
in as witnesses at the wedding were both shot. They were
rushed to the hospital and have reportedly been stabilised.
The gunman fled after carrying out the callous act.
Oxford Joins Reading On Loan From West Ham #TransferDeadlineDay
Young West Ham defender, Reece Oxford has left
West Ham for Reading on loan for the rest of the
season.
Oxford committed his future to West Ham in
December, signing a four-and-a-half year deal but has
not seen a lot of action.
The 18-year-old will continue the rest of the season
with championship side Reading, who are third on the
table.
“Reece was a player who was wanted on loan by a
number of clubs and we are absolutely delighted to
have secured his services for the remainder of the

Mason: I Feel Lucky After Surviving Skull Fracture
Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason has spoken for the
first time since sustaining a skull fracture against
Chelsea.
The midfielder was involved in an aerial collision with
Gary Cahill and he says he feels lucky to be alive.
Mason was given oxygen and put in a neck brace on
the pitch before he was transferred to St. Mary’s. He
has now thanked fans for their support.
“I would like to thank everyone for the overwhelming
support that has been shown to both me and my
entire family over the past week or so,” Mason wrote.
“It has been an emotional rollercoaster and I feel
lucky to be alive, but I’m happy to say that I’m now at
home resting and recovering.
“My fiancé and family have read so many messages of

Asa Asika returns a s Davido’s manager four years after he
was sacked by the singer for financial misappropriations in
December 2012.
Kamal Ajiboye took over as Davido’s manager in January
2013. He managed Davido until December 2016 when he had

Muslim Ban ; Barack Obama Breaks Silence On Donald Trump For The First Time
Barack Obama has broken his silence for the first time
since Donald Trump's inauguration - offering his
encouragement to people protesting against Donald
Trump. President Obama released a statement tonight,
welcoming the protests, which he says are "exactly what
we expect to see when American values are at stake."
And in an even more pointed dig at his successor, he
explained the difference between his pause on granting
visas to Iraqi citizens in 2011 and Donald Trump's
Muslim ban.
The statement says he "fundamentally disagrees with
the notion of discriminating against individuals because
of their faith or religion."
The statement comes as protests against Donald
Trump's Muslim ban have stretched across the pond.
Large demonstrations have been reported across the
UK - in cities as far afield as London, Brighton,
Manchester, Leeds, Nottingham, Birmingham, Liverpool,
Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Trump's America: California wants to secede from the United States
I guess a bit of Chaos is coming to the US following Donald
Trump's election to the highest seat in the country. The state
of California wants to secede from the United States in a
move that has been called 'Calexit', which if they succeed,
would establish California as a separate country from the
USA. This is the first time since 1861 that a state (South
Carolina) would attempt to exit the US.
One of the people pushing for the recession explained why
California wants out of the US;
"California is the most diverse place in the world. And we
want to have more minorities, more immigrants, more
international connections"

A proposal for California to secede from the United
States was submitted to the Secretary of State’s
Office Thursday.
The proposed “Calexit” initiative - its name borrowed
from the UK's "Brexit" departure from the EU - would
ask voters to repeal part of the state constitution that
declares California an inseparable part of the U.S.
A recent poll found that one in three California
residents would support a possible secession from
the U.S. due to their opposition to President Trump.
No mention has been made of the president in the
proposal.
If the proposal qualifies for the ballot and is approved
by voters, it could be a step to a future vote on
whether the state would break away from the rest of
the nation.
Secretary of State Alex Padilla said the group behind
the proposal, Yes California Independence Campaign ,
was cleared to begin attempting to collect nearly
600,000 voter signatures needed to place the plan on
the ballot.
"In our view, the United States of America represents
so many things that conflict with Californian values,
and our continued statehood means California will
continue subsidizing the other states to our own
detriment, and to the detriment of our children," the
Yes campaign's website says.
Similar attempts to establish California as a nation, or
break it into multiple states, have failed.
The proposed constitutional amendment, titled
California Nationhood, would also ask voters to repeal
language that states the U.S. Constitution is the
supreme law. If approved, it calls for scheduling a
vote in 2019 to ask voters, "Should California become
a free, sovereign and independent country?"
"America already hates California, and America votes
on emotions," Marcus Evans, vice president of Yes
California told the Los Angeles Times . "I think we'd
have the votes today if we held it."
The campaign must submit the valid voter signatures
by July 25 to qualify for the ballot.
