- To prevent civil unrest in Lagos, the DSS has met with police officials and traditional rulers
- Their major source of concern is the agitation for Biafra by the IPOB in the southeast
- During the meeting they resolved to ensure that such civil unrest and disturbance of public peace would not be allowed Considering the breach of peace caused by the agitation of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) in the southeast and southsouth regions of the country, security stakeholders have met in Lagos. The meeting is to map out plans in order to prevent a similar occurrence in the state.
Those in the meeting included representatives of the Department of State Security (DSS), police, monarchs, and leaders of the three major tribes in the country - Igbo, Yoruba and Hausa.
According to Daily Times, all present pledged to unanimously rise against any act that could lead to a crisis and shatter the relative peace in Apapa, Iganmu area of the state and its environs.
