Cameroonian football player Samuel Nlend has been
sacked by a top Egyptian football club after tests revealed
he was HIV positive. Egyptian Premier League side Al Ittihad
sacked the 21-year-old just four days after signing a three
year contract with him.
Egyptian news outlet KingFut.com reported that a media
representative of the club confirmed the news to the
press. Nlend is regarded as one of Cameroon's brightest
soccer prospects. He scored in January's Africa Cup of
Nations tournament. He also finished the last Cameroonian
soccer league as the top scorer with his former club, Union
Douala.
